Who ?
I provide freelance IT-consulting services.
Predominately focussed on Salesforce. Usually in the form of
an architect or solution architect role.
Think of an architect that still knows how to get his hands dirty and build.
Typical activities and expertise revolve around:
- - Salesforce configuration and Apex development
- - Integration design with the landscape
- - Improvement of existing implementations
- - Creating roadmaps and project plans
- - Architectural design and review
The Story
My freelance adventure started in 2012, on the tail end of the recession. I'd been an It
consultant during my professional career.
Salesforce was a relatively new cloud based platform, poised for great things. And it felt
like the time was right to try and do things differently. And so it began...
Beliefs
During my years as a consultant I've come across a number of repetitive challenges, that seemed to recur in a lot of projects and environments. Regardless of their business domain or corporate structure. Teams and companies tend fall in similar pitfalls that seem obvious when you're observing from the outside, but are often overlooked or "put aside for later" by the participants in the heat of the project. So I'll share some of my professional beliefs that sound like oxymorons, yet 8 out of 10 times are overlooked or neglected in medium to large projects.
- - Architecture matters
- - Model your data properly from day 1
- - Involve end-users early in the design and build phases
- - SCRUM is great, but remember to make a project plan
- - Create extra degrees of freedom in your design whenever possible
If some of that makes sense, or if it doesn't, but you're somehow constantly running after
the facts. Spending too much time on re-working prior deliverables.
Feel free to get in touch, perhaps I can help.
